We are keen to see that the way we provide services is appropriate to your needs. Also we wish to explain services so that they are used appropriately. PARADISE MEDICAL CENTRE About us: The practice was originally established in 1966 by Dr J U Shah in St Paul’s Road. This was a valuable new service for patients who had originated from the Indian subcontinent. Subsequently Dr D Mistry joined in 1981. The practice now has 4 partners and one salaried GP. We look after 7200 patients from diverse origins. Additionally, we have trainee GPs who bring latest, up to date knowledge and skills to the practice. Our aim is to provide timely access to our patient for professional medical advice taking in account the current limitations in resources both financial and manpower. Our staff are trained Care-navigators who are enabled to help you contact the most appropriate healthcare worker. They will guide you to the correct services. Please give as much information as possible for your needs to be fulfilled. Our services will enable prevention of disease, assessment and diagnosis of new symptoms troublesome to you, support with treating the conditions according to the generally accepted guidelines and helping you to cope with the physical, psychological and social effects of your condition. To achieve this aim we have introduced changes to the traditional system building on previous systems that worked well. The new approaches are: Telephone consultations with their usual GP as a first contact method for all patients requesting this. This will then enable the doctor to arrange the most appropriate management. Health checks and chronic disease reviews The use of POD services for repeat prescriptions.
